About this tool
A simple way to check common mouse input patterns
The Advanced Mouse & Scroll Wheel Jitter Tester is a free browser tool for people who want to check how their mouse behaves before changing settings, contacting a manufacturer, or replacing hardware.
What it checks
- Scroll-wheel direction changes over a dedicated test area, including brief reversals that may be worth checking.
- Intervals between presses of the same mouse button. The page flags intervals below 80 milliseconds as a possible pattern, not a confirmed switch fault.
- Mouse-movement events delivered by the browser while this page is active. This is an approximate event rate, not the device's hardware polling rate.
What it does not do
A website cannot inspect the inside of a mouse, read its firmware, confirm USB polling settings, or prove that a switch or encoder is damaged. Operating systems and browsers can also change, combine, or limit the events a page receives. Treat a warning as a reason to repeat a check and compare results, not as a diagnosis.
How the tool handles test results
Mouse-button, scroll-wheel, and movement measurements are processed in the open browser tab. They are not sent to a test server. Closing or reloading the page ends that session and clears its in-page results. Cloudflare Web Analytics separately measures aggregate visits and page performance; details are in the privacy policy.
